Steven Whelan initially qualified as a lawyer in New York in 2014, where he practised in a prominent litigation defence firm and appeared before the New York Supreme Court. He subsequently qualified as a solicitor in Ireland and was entered onto the Roll of Solicitors in 2018.
Following this, Steven worked in a multinational law firm, specialising in consumer compliance, financial services, and regulatory law. Prior to his legal career, he served in the Irish Defence Forces and took part in missions in Africa and the Middle East.
He retains a strong loyalty to his former comrades and represents a number of current and former Defence Forces members across a wide range of legal matters. Steven has also received the FLAC Golden Pin in recognition of his voluntary legal work assisting members of the public.
