High Court settlements secured in workplace injury cases

Philip Treacy, Solicitor at Coleman Legal LLP, recently settled two High Court cases relating to workplace head injuries. The settlements were achieved during the public health restrictions through telephone settlement negotiations.

The combined value of the settlements amounted to €275,000 plus legal costs.

First workplace head injury settlement

The first case settled for €100,000 plus costs and involved an employee who allegedly sustained significant injuries following a workplace accident. The case concerned allegations that the individual suffered head injuries and ongoing symptoms affecting their daily life and ability to work.

Second High Court settlement involving serious injury

The second case settled for €175,000 plus costs. The proceedings related to another employee who allegedly suffered serious workplace injuries involving trauma to the head. The claim addressed the alleged long-term consequences of the injuries and their impact on the injured person’s quality of life and employment.
