Time limits vary. For children, the usual period generally begins at eighteen, while medical negligence may depend on when the harm became known. Early advice is important.

Child accident cases generally go to the Injuries Resolution Board first. Medical negligence cases are excluded, and we will explain the appropriate route.

Evidence may include medical records, photographs, witness details, accident reports, expert opinions, receipts and information about your child’s ongoing needs.

The timeframe depends on the circumstances, the evidence required, your child’s recovery and whether responsibility or compensation is disputed.

Costs depend on the complexity of the case, the expert evidence required, and how the case progresses. We will explain all likely fees and expenses clearly in writing before proceeding.

Not necessarily. Many cases are resolved through assessment, mediation or negotiation. Court proceedings may be required if an agreement cannot be reached.
